Lufthansa Offers Free Drinks and Flight to the Guy Who Lost the iPhone 4G

After the great support during the volcano flight crisis via social media channels, Lufthansa marketing is becoming the new Johnny Weissmüller of social media marketing.

After the great customer support during the volcano crisis trough social media channels (visit report here), Lufthansa has thrown its next social media fast-ball. In an open letter to Gray Powell – the unfortunate guy who last the iPhone 4G in a bar – Lufthansas marketing director Nicolas Lange offers Gray free Beer and a Business Class flight to Munich.

“We got some hints so far from people who know him but we haven’t heard from him as well,” said Martin Riecken, a spokesman for the airline, who confirmed the authenticity of the tweet. Although no mention of accommodations was extended, Riecken said Lufthansa would “make sure he has a happy time.”

This might be a great marketing idea, which has already gone viral, although the timing with all the people still waiting for their flight might be chosen a bit at the wrong time.
