Social media is universe all for itself and millions of pieces of data get aggregated every day. Here are some tools for you on how to manage your day in social media and track your brand.
Addictomatic: Shows search results on a topic of several web services (Twitter, Facebook, Digg, YouTube, WordPress, Flickr and many more). Customizable and great service to get information from a variety of services.
Allfacebook.com: Shows the most popular Facebook pages and apps. Great to see Facebook page statistics.
Bloglines: Personal web-based news aggregator.
Blogpulse: Service of Nielsen Buzz Metrics showing the most trending topics and most linked blogs in the bloggosphere. Great tool for analyzing top stories and news sites.
Boardtracker: Tracks conversation on a topic in forums. Although only uses the headlines for tracking.
Booshaka: Shows what people are sharing on Facebook. Not as powerful as Kurrently and no instant update.
FriendFeedSearch : Scans all FriendFeed activity.
HootSuite: Twitter client for companies. Registration needed so I didn’t test it.
GoogleAlerts: Notification when a keyword (chosen by you) gets mentioned.
HowSociable?: Shows you how often your brand or keyword is mentioned in several social media services (Twitter, Facebook, Blogs, YouTube) ect. and shows you the posts. Nice if you like to Google yourself and a great tool as well.
Icerocket: Another tool to monitor a keyword on social media channels (Twitter, Blogs, News, Flickr and YouTube)
Insidefacebook: Ranks the top pages and apps on Facebook.
Keotag: Keyword monitoring tool on social media channels. Didn’t work for Twitter when I tested it.
Kurrently: Shows you which poeple are sharing a keyword (e.g. Lean Meyer-Landrut) on Facebook and Twitter. Results are updated in real-time.
Klout: Identifies the most influential Twitterers.
Omgili: Tracks a keyword over several social media channels. Problem: Channels not shows where the conversation takes place.
Monitter: Real-time, live Twitter monitoring.
Socialmention: Tracks conversation on various social media platforms. Didn’t work when tested.
Samepoint: tracks conversation on the Internet. Includes a multiple of sites but is not as “real-time”ish as other services.
Surchur: Search engine that covers most social media channels. Nice display but incomplete search results when I tested it.
Technorati: Great tool to find blogpost and search the bloggosphere.
Tinker: Twitter search engine. Didn’t work properly tough when tested.
TweetDeck: Tool to manage your Twitter account, Foursquare, Facebook, Google Buzz and shows you what people are saying about you with a keyword search. Also available for iPhone or the iPad.
Twitter Search: Searches Twitter for keywords. Probably the most accurate but solely for Twitter.
Tweet Stats: Tracks your (or friends) usage and conversation on Twitter.
Twittercounter: Track your Tweets, Twitterfollowers and see the top Twitter users. Great for any Twitter statistics you might need.
Twitteranalyzer: Analyzes your Twitter account.
Twitaholic: Ranks Twitter users according to their followers.
UberVU: Analyzes the top social media sites. With paid version you get a sentiment analysis. Not quite sure if it integrates the whole media landscape. (e.g. My blog on “Lena” was not listed and only low scores for her).
Sideline: Similar to TweetDeck from Yahoo! Installation needed so didn’t test it.
WordPresssearch: Shows WordPress posts and comments.
Vitrue SMI: Counts the mentionings of a brand in social media and gives the brand a point score.
Did I forget one? Let me know!
My favorites: Blogpulse, Allfacebook, Twittercounter, TweetDeck
